Catharine Binding, Practice Manager.

In 1984 I saw a job application in the local paper which required secretarial skills, experience with horses and a willingness to cook. Applications to Box No.... I had no idea it was in a veterinary practice! I first started work at White Lodge in 1984. The practice was attached to George Carters home at Whitegate Road. We had an office upstairs and a small waiting room and operating theatre downstairs, the dispensary was in the cupboard under the stairs! We used a garage for lambing and dehorning, and across the yard there were a couple of stables which on occasion were used for cow caesareans.

My work was decidedly different then, I had to fill every role within the surgery, other than veterinary surgeon – this involved assisting the vets with x-raying, operations, making lunches, sending invoices, TB testing, and more! During my time at White Lodge I have trained in laboratory techniques and radiology. When the practice moved to the current premises, my job started to change considerably, and I am now practice manager!

When I do manage to sneak away, in my spare time I enjoy photography. I feel very lucky to live within a National park where I enjoy birdwatching

Maggie Lewis, Companion Animal Manager.

I have worked in the veterinary profession as a manager for the last eighteen years, and joined the team here at White Lodge in 2009. I opened the branch surgery in Williton the following year, and now mainly work at the Minehead clinic, where I am the companion animal practice manager. I have three grown up sons, and have recently become a grandmother to baby Henry! I live in the Brendon Hills with my husband, along with our 2 black Labradors, Henry and Mortimer, three cats and five chickens.

In my spare time I enjoy going to my weekly tap dancing lessons and playing the piano, I am also very passionate about my garden.

Claire Godfrey, Farm and Equine Manager.

I have worked at White Lodge since 1994, and until recently I was in a nursing role; mainly involved in the equine side of the practice. Now I can be found in the office, over seeing the equine and farm side of the business.

In April 2015, I moved across to the Ellicombe Clinic, to be the manager of the brand new site! It's very exciting, and I am enjoying the challenges it brings me daily. With a specialised site, and brand new facilities, it has allowed us to offer a much better service for our Equine and Farm Clients.

At home, I enjoy trying to tame my three energetic sons and Nellie – our family dog, playing and watching rugby, and horse riding, all washed down with a nice glass of wine!

Michele Goodall, Williton Branch Manager.

I moved to Somerset from Hampshire in 2004, and became part of the White Lodge family in 2013. It's my job to keep the Williton branch running smoothly. Before my time in the veterinary industry, I was the manager of an elderly care service for 22 years. I enjoy meeting the customers and their pets, aswell as keeping up to date with the progress of all our existing customers. The best part? No two days are the same!

In my spare time I enjoy walking my 2 cheeky little terriers, Maisy and Molly, reading a good book and gardening.

Marie McLean-Foreman, Receptionist and Administration.

I joined White Lodge in April 2010, my main roles include managing the equine accounts, and working on reception. Before White Lodge, I worked as a farm secretary, also looking after point-to-point horses, and then spent many years working within the medical profession before returning to animals.

Outside of work I regularly compete at various events on my ex racehorse, Charlie. At home, Charlie is kept company by Mischief the Dartmoor pony. When I'm not with the horses (which isn't very often) I can be found walking my Jack Russell terrier, Daisy, who most definitely rules the roost! I also enjoy cooking, and often have my friends over for supper.

Paula McDonagh, Receptionist.

I joined White Lodge in 2013 as a receptionist, and alongside that I have taken charge of all things 'PDSA', from registering new clients, to running accounts, and everything in between!                                                                                           I have been a vegetarian for nearly 20 years, and enjoy cooking and baking, especially sweet things – truffles are my speciality! I absolutely adore cats, especially black ones, and have three at home of my own. I enjoy walking and camping, something the cats aren't so fond of..

Mary Reynolds, Receptionist.

I moved here from Surrey 6 years ago, and have since trained as a veterinary care assistant and worked in the veterinary environment for four years. I then joined White Lodge in January 2014, and work on reception where I enjoy greeting the clients and all their furry companions.

Outside of work I can be found exploring West Somerset with my spoilt terrier, Ollie, or putting my feet up at home with a good book. I have also just welcomed my adorable yorkie x jack Russell, Newt, into my home. She is currently enjoying her days in the office here at White Lodge.

Emily Charlotte Elgar, Receptionist.

I joined White Lodge to help with social media, website management, reception, and everything inbetween!

I enjoy riding my horse Bodie, who I hope to start eventing in 2016, which will be a big change as I've always preferred dressage – as a junior, I represented the South East at national level dressage, and worked for both international dressage and event riders, which enabled me to ride some incredibly talented horses!

Since moving to Exmoor from Kent, I love exploring the beaches and woods with my border collie - Lottie, then coming home to be greeted by all five cats. In the last few years I have completed a full marathon, taken part in the tough mudder challenge, and several sky dives/bungee jumps/other unusual adrenaline activities!
