 Lucy Boulter RVN, Head Nurse.

I have worked at White Lodge since 2009, and have since become a registered veterinary nurse, I recently gained my Ncert ECC, which is a certificate in emergency and critical care. I aim to give an extremely high standard of nursing care to all my patients, and treat each animal as if it was my own.

Alongside this, I am a qualified clinical coach, so can use my experience and knowledge to help train the student nurses here at White Lodge.

At home, I have my very soppy Rhodesian Ridegeback called Xaus, he is a genuine big, friendly giant, and regularly gives blood when needed.

Laura Dobson RVN.

I first joined White Lodge in 2010, and have since become a qualified Vet Nurse. I'd love to qualify in equine nursing in the future, as I have a particular interest in that field, and spend most of my time seeing to our equine and farm patients at the new Ellicombe Clinic. When I first started here, I rescued a little kitten who was found in an extremely sorry state on the streets of Watchet, he is now a very fat, happy, family cat called Charlie.

Outside of work, I'm always surrounded by animals! Whether I'm out exploring on my horse, stag hunting, or animal sitting - I also run a pet care service, and usually have an extra dog or two to stay! I'm also part of the young farmers, I enjoy the young farmer and local hunt events, such as the valentines/christmas balls, and help to organise some of them.

I have four horses, Lola my Suffolk Punch x TB, and Tory my TB x Cob who I regularly hunt. I also have Jess and Crispin, who are both on loan to lovely homes! Completing the family there is Sky and Maisie, my border collie and jack russell, who enjoy helping me at work, especially when they get to make new friends.

Kathy Batts RVN.

I have worked part time at this West Somerset Vets since 2000, as a qualified veterinary nurse. Since then, I have gained a city and guilds certificate in grooming and spend quite a bit of my time pampering pooches, both at work and home. I have a collection of animals; dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, chickens, and quail, as well as three children, which keep me very busy!

Hayley Wood RVN.

I started working at this small animal, equine and farm vet practice in 2000, and later qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2004. My main interests at work are Equine Nursing and Laboratory investigations. I have more recently been working Part Time, to enable me to spend more time with my children.                          Out of work my time is spent juggling my two kids, exercising my quirky ex racehorse and my loopy springer spaniel!! My hobbies include riding, running, cycling and socialising!

Lucy Hastings RVN.

I started at White Lodge in 2013 as a student Vet Nurse, successfully qualifying in 2015. I really do love my job, particularly the work with exotics and equines. Most days my two dogs get to come along too, my patterdale, Scampi and my border collie, Sky.

I've always worked with animals, from exercising local hunt horses, dog sitting, being a competition groom and breaking in youngsters.

My spare time is spent in the same way, I have a loan horse called Rocket who I hunt, and hope to start showing this summer, I also ride other peoples horses for competitions and schooling.

Amy Pollard, 1st year student Vet Nurse.

I started coming to White Lodge for work experience when I was 15, after leaving school, I was offered a full time student placement at this Somerset Vet Clinic alongside Cannington College. I should become a Qualified Veterinary Nurse in 2017 which is so exciting.

It's great to have a placement at a mixed practice, as outside of work I am also involved with animals of all shapes and sizes. I have my own horses, Tom and Ari, as well as dogs, cats and sheep in the family! They all keep me very busy!

I also enjoy Young Farmers events and take part when I can, amongst my huge piles of coursework I contend with.

Jayne Pettit, 1st year student Vet Nurse.

It was always my goal to become a Vet Nurse, and after years of being a dental nurse, I have finally made the jump! Although it is incredibly hard work with the long working hours and full time coursework, I am so happy to finally be doing what I love.

I am learning to ride at the moment, which is something I have always had a passion for and hope to have my own horse within the next couple of months. I also have a mulittude of other pets at home, from ferrets to bullmastifs, and even a couple of reptiles!

Although I love the variety of mixed practice, as it completely mirrors my life at home, my goal is to become an Equine Nurse, the new practice at Ellicombe allows me to see a wide range of Equine operations, with clients travelling from Bristol, Exeter and further to see our equine vets.

Emily Charlotte Elgar, 1st year student Vet Nurse .

I joined White Lodge in 2014 to help with social media, website management, reception, and everything inbetween! I moved over to the 'green team' of Veterinary Nursing' in September 2016.

I enjoy riding my horse Bodie, who I hope to start eventing, which will be a big change as I've always preferred dressage – as a junior, I represented the South East at national level dressage, and rode for both international dressage and event riders.

Since moving to Exmoor from Kent, I love exploring the beaches and woods with my border collie - Lottie and Romanian rescue dog - Lola, then coming home to be greeted by all five cats. In the last few years I have completed a full marathon, taken part in the tough mudder challenge, and several sky dives/bungee jumps/other unusual adrenaline activities!

Polly Keene, 2nd year student Vet Nurse.

I am a student at the Harper Adams University, currently in my second year with one more year to go! I was really excited to be offered a working placement at White Lodge vets as I keep my horse, Rosie, near Stockland Lovell so have many friends and family that recommend their veterinary services.

It's great to be part of a vet clinic that is forward thinking and expanding, with refurbishments taking place as we speak! At the same time, my favourite part of my job is getting to know clients and keeping in touch throughout their recovery, White Lodge has a great community feel and I love being a part of the friendly veterinary team.

Katie Creighton, Volunteer.

I have worked at this vets in Exmoor for over 20 years! I absolutely love my job, especially on the days we have puppies or kittens in, sometimes both! I don't have any pets of my own at home, but often look after my sister's Border Terrier, who I nickname 'Dirty Gertie', and my friends utterly lovely Labrador, Harley.

I also really enjoy fitness, and spend a lot of my spare time at a local gym, either working out on the cross trainer, or completing some volunteer work. Keeping fit means I can do the other thing I really love.. Cooking! My specialities include Spanish, Italian and French cuisine, I just have to make sure I do extra minutes on the rowing machine to burn it all off.
